About Us
A rigorous K-5 community school serving Santa Cruz County, Arizona — home of the Owls.
Colegio Petite is a nurturing school that develops the global child: academically, socially, and non-cognitively. We are a FREE, public charter school that is excited to serve all elementary students. Our program is designed to meet the needs of all students, whether they speak one or more languages.
This school was envisioned and developed by a group of bilingual parents, students, and community members with a strong desire for a dedicated, dual-language campus that promotes academic learning in both English and Spanish. These stakeholders, in collaboration with The Leona Group, conceptualized, designed, and applied for the school’s charter — and our Santa Cruz community now experiences the school every day.
Roots and Wings
Our campus provides a rich learning environment through a robust program of academics enriched by arts, hands-on learning, and 21st-century classrooms. Core academic instruction is delivered in English, and students continue to build Spanish through physical education and our social-emotional learning program — keeping language and culture part of every school day.
Together, as a community, we provide our students with both ROOTS and WINGS: roots in our community and wings to soar through this ever-changing world.
