What are we looking for in a school leader?
The school leader for Colegio will be an experienced, bilingual educator who has a passion for bilingualism. The leader we are seeking has ties to the bilingual education community, a background in bilingual education or ELL, and believes in the educational mission, vision, and principles of the school. It is essential that the school leader for Colegio have a strong instructional background and be completely fluent in both English and Spanish. This leader will be excited about connecting with Colegio's parent community and will actively engage stakeholders in the school's development. The school leader will be ultimately responsible for all daily instructional, operational, and financial management of the school with assistance from The Leona Group.
What are we looking for in our teachers?
All Colegio teachers will have a passion for bilingualism and an enthusiasm for the 50/50 dual language model of the school. We know that it is essential that teachers have native-like fluency in any language in which they teach, and we are seeking this in our candidates. It is our hope that every teacher at Colegio has prior experience in a bilingual or language immersion school or program, but we are open to having our campus be the first bilingual education experience for highly-skilled, dynamic elementary teachers who believe in our mission and vision. Every Colegio teacher must have a growth mindset and be open to continuous professional improvement, and all teachers must be willing to embrace the professional development offered that is necessary to create a cohesive campus that realizes the educational and cultural mission/vision/principles of Colegio. Most importantly, every Colegio teacher must be a warm, energetic professional who is adept at creating a positive classroom environment in which all children can love learning and flourish.
